Three Reasons Why People Love Giant Wedding Balloons

Here are my top 3 reasons why people love giant balloons on their wedding day.

If you love balloons and want them to feature in your wedding day, why not go full out and have giant wedding balloons?!

1. Decorations

Everybody’s reaction is always the same when they see giant balloons – WOW look at how big them balloons are!!

You will grabbing everyone’s attention straight away, as soon as they walk into the room.

Giant gold confetti balloons

Whether you choose to have them as a backdrop to your top table or as your décor on every table. Your wedding balloons will look amazing.

Giant blue wedding balloons

2. Photo Props

Some couples choose not to have balloons as part of their décor, but have them just for their wedding photos.

And as you can see from these images below, why would you not involve balloons in your photos.

Make sure you let your photographer know your ideas, when giving them the list of photos you want to have on your wedding day.

Photo Credit – Sammie Lee Photography

You can of course use your balloons as your wedding décor and then use some of them in your wedding photos as well.

But let me know if this is the case. The balloons will have to be slightly under inflated to fit in and out of doors!!

3. Versatile

Due to the size of the balloon, you can add extras to them and it wont effect the float time as much as it does with smaller balloons.

You can add in confetti, Organza around the outside, you can even add ivy or tassels to the the base of the balloon.

Mr & Mrs Giant wedding balloon

And yes I can add personalisation to it.

So can you see why giant balloons are so popular to have on your wedding day?

Do you want to have an amazing blue wedding?

Blue is becoming more and more popular as a wedding colour scheme.

When pantone announced it as its colour for 2020 I know lots of people got excited.

As did Mel from Mel’s Cakes and bakes who organised this shoot.

From blue balloons, to a blue cake, a blue suit to blue candles, there is so much you can do if you want a blue wedding and we had it all.

Mel wanted to go for a mix of dark and light blues with a hint of gold.

So this is what I did with my balloons.

We had decided on a Demi arch – a half arch organic style – on my hoop framework. I used a mixture of Navy, pastel blue and azure blue balloons and added in a few gold chrome balloons.

Later throughout the shoot we attached the lets eat cake sign from Sparkling event hire to the hoop.

Toni from Glamavan even added blue glitter to the bride

Keshell came with her mobile bar and added blue bunting

I think you can see that there is much available if you want to have a blue wedding.

I hope this has given you lots of inspiration for your special day.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss your wedding day balloons.

Natural Barn Wedding

Natural Barn Wedding

Pinterest graphic

At the end of 2019 I was asked to take part in a natural barn wedding shoot at South Farm.

I had never been to this venue before, but had heard lots about it and was very excited as they have PIGS!!!

The shoot was for a natural themed barn wedding, I provided balloons in nude/blush. I was to place them around Sam’s copper frame to form an arch style display.

The thing with nude/blush balloons, is that they look nice, but they are VERY plain.

So to add some depth, I added a few rose gold balloons, they matched perfectly with the butterflies on Mel’s cake.

Using a mixture of different sized balloons, I decorated half of the framework.

So you could still see the wooden beams from the barn. I then left gaps for the copper pipe to show through.

Alina then added some of her flowers. They matched what she had used around the venue and in the brides bouquet.

Using wooden crates instead a table, helped the cake area fit right in with the natural barn theme.

The images below, show the balloon arch being used as a backdrop for photos. You could even use it as part of ceremony.

After the indoor shots, I took the balloons and wrapped them around Jo’s wooden Love Letters.

I think you will agree, if you are having a natural barn wedding, you can have balloon décor too and if will fit perfectly into your theme.

Pastel Wedding

Pastel colours are so popular right now. Are you thinking of having a pastel wedding?

They are described as light, soft, and calming. It is said if you like pastels and use them as a colour scheme you are probably someone who is friendly, sensitive, gentle and caring. Does that sound like you?

First of you will need to decide if you are going to stick to one colour for your pastel wedding or are you going to go multi coloured?

Once you have decided this, you then need to decide whether you are going to go full out and have everything pastel or are you going to just add a hint of pastel into your scheme.

5 Ways to add pastels into your wedding day

1. Balloons

Yes, balloons now come in your favourite pastel colours too. Add them as an arch or to your tables as centrepieces, there are so many different ways to add balloon into your wedding day.

3. Cakes

Add pastel details to the cake or make the whole cake a pastel colour, which do you prefer?

4. Nails

Whether you prefer gels or acrylics, adding the colour to your nails or your bridesmaid’s nails, is a nice subtle way of adding the colour into your day.

5. Dresses

A big way to make the colour a big part of you day is for your bridesmaids to be dressed in the colour or colours you have chosen.

Or maybe add the colour into your wedding dress.

I hope this has given you some different ideas and helps you with planning your pastel wedding

Blue & Red Wedding

Read all about Catriona’s & Roberts Blue & Red wedding day.

Catriona & Robert wanted to add a fun to their wedding day and chose to have a superhero themed wedding.

From the grooms bow tie to the brides garter every little detail had a nod to a superhero.

Whether they were from Marvel or DC legends, they were included.

Room Décor

After the church service in Streatley, the wedding reception was held at The co op club in Luton.

With the help from Catriona’s sister they made their own table centrepieces. Each one featured a different colour that went along with that superhero.

Everything else was then kept to blue & red which matched the guest’s invitations.

I alternated the blue & red chair bows, which I set up the previous day with help from Vikki from your wedding friend.

It is sometimes so much easier and less stressful if you can get into your venue the day before. It is always worth asking.

Their exploding first dance balloon contained a mixture of blue & red balloons with red confetti and the top table balloon display was also a mixture of both colours.

I set up a table with a wishing well, wishing tree and personalised balloon blocks, again these contained a mixture of blue and red balloons with blue details added to the wishing well.

Catriona & Robert also booked my sweet cart, this also had blue details added to it. They decided on family favourite sweets and also gave me a list of sweets they didn’t like, so I wouldn’t include them.

Weddings with Creative Decorations

Balloon Decor

Giant wedding balloons

Make your big day extra special. with Wedding balloon decor – arches, balloon centerpieces and unique floating creations from Creative Decorations Balloons can transform any venue into one of beauty. Mix helium, foil, latex and double-bubble balloons. Leave them loose for the dancefloor, create a balloon path or balloon bouquets. Mr and Mrs balloons have proven to be extremely popular and create beautiful wedding images. The possibilities are endless!

Here’s a list of the all the types of wedding balloon decor I can provide:

Table Decoration
Candle centre pieces and flowers are lovely, but they can ruin the conversation on a table if the people across from each other can’t see who they are talking too. Instead, go for a helium filled bubble balloon to make an impact. You can easily tie them into your theme by having them filled with confetti in your colours or have them printed with the wedding date and couple’s names. By having them on a long piece of ribbon, it opens up the table for the guests to talk!

Dance Floor Back Drops
Helium filled letters are a cost-effective way to decorate your dance floor. Whether you want to spell “Mr & Mrs”, “LOVE” or maybe the date of the wedding They are a Creative way to personalise your venue. You could even have a balloon drop where a sea of balloons float over you and your new husband/wife during your first dance as Mr and Mrs!

Wedding balloon decor

Bouquets
Step away from the normal flower and hoop bouquets and opt for something different to accompany you and your bridesmaids down the aisle.

For the Evening
Sparkler tunnels have become a very popular for wedding evenings and yes, they look great on Instagram, but be unique and break away from this trend and go for a dramatic balloon arch! They look wonderful.

We can also offer you a Sweetie Cart for your evening reception. This is always a huge hit for children and adults!

Balloon Decorators – Why you need one

Balloon Decorators- Why You Need One

So, you’re planning a special event, maybe a wedding reception or a birthday party, and you want to incorporate balloons in some way. In this blog, we are going to let you know WHY you should hire a professional balloon decorator rather than doing it yourself or getting someone unqualified in to cut costs.

Hiring one of our professionals allows you to completely relax and enjoy every bit of the party, without feeling the pressure. With that said, you may still be having doubts as to whether you need to hire a specialist for your next party, so here are some more reasons to give us a try:

1.You will be too busy dealing with other things on party day

It’s impossible and stressful trying to be sociable with everyone at your party anyway, making sure all your guests are entertained and keeping an eye on the kids/animals/drunk friends to make sure they stay out of trouble, without the added stress of trying to organise balloon arches, and balloon walls! Creative Decorations will take all of that stress away, we’ve got you covered.

2. Disposable canisters never expel the full amount stated

True story! I get lots of last minute calls from people who use disposable canisters and quickly realise it’s not enough for the required number of balloons they need. I’ve also had panicked phone calls from mums and dads who have spent the whole night before their child’s party filling up heaps of balloons, only to find by the morning, the balloons are on the floor!
Hiring a professional means that the set up for parties/weddings/events will be done the night before and your balloons will still be floating by morning. Win!

3.You were just going to ask one of your friends or family to take care of the balloons

Firstly, they’re guests and are probably keen to have fun too. Secondly, are you sure that you want to risk having a potential disaster with the balloons just to save a few quid?

4. Buying cheap balloons online doesn’t always save you money

Especially if you have to end up doing it twice. Cheap foil balloons online don’t always float and small foil balloons are not suitable for helium so will also not float!
We used to offer a balloon filling service but do not anymore. Why? Because of the amount of bad quality balloons we were being asked to fill. Most were not suitable for helium and would never last the duration of an event.

Here’s a few points to remember when hiring us as your balloon decorator:

1. Creative Decorations are fully trained and insured
2. We do the job for you, allowing you more time to get ready for your event

3. Our balloons are QUALITY and will last the duration of your event and beyond!

Remember cheap is not always best

Until next time,
Helen

Balloon Releases

Balloon Releases – Don’t Let them go!

All of us at some point in our lives have let go of, or lost, a balloon. Who doesn’t enjoy watching a balloon float into the air? Its mesmerising. But recently balloon releases have become controversial. Why? Because balloons create litter and pose a risk to wildlife.

There are those balloon professionals like us and BAPIA who no longer support nor facilitate the deliberate release of balloons into the atmosphere. But there are those who believe that when conducted properly, and with the right materials, latex balloon releases are harmless to wildlife and the environment, but this is simply not true. So, we are here to give you a few facts and alternatives to balloon releases.

What’s Wrong with Balloon Releases?

It cannot be disputed that balloon releases cause litter – “What goes up, must come down!”
A recent report indicates that of those latex balloons that could be traced after a monitored balloon release, approximately 12% burst into small pieces, and 81% were recovered with half of the balloon mass intact. What happens next is not the traditional pop that you and I are used to seeing, but instead something simply called “shattering.” The helium balloon breaks in a manner that is similar to smashing a mirror, and all that is left are very small pieces of cold latex that sprinkle back down to earth.

How Can we Help Make your Balloon Release Friendly to Wildlife and the Environment?

If you decide to have a balloon release, consider these options:
• Use fully biodegradable balloons.
• Make sure balloons are air-filled.
• Hand-tie the balloons.
• Do not use plastic disks, attachments, or ribbon or string. Biodegradable cotton string and thin raffia ribbon can still get tangled up in trees and utility lines and harm wildlife.

Popular Balloon Release Alternatives That We Can Offer

1. Balloon Messages– Displaying Balloons at funerals/weddings with messages tied to the string for all to read is a lovely idea, and not harmful to the environment as they are not being released.
2. Personalised balloons– Add your own message or photos onto foil balloons to be place around the room.
3. Seed Balloons– Put your favourite flower seeds into a balloon and pop it over the area you would like them to grow.
4. Balloon Wall-We can build balloon walls that allow you to write different messages on them.
5. Prize Balloon Popping – Hide a few prizes inside air filled balloons. Release balloons indoors and let everyone pop them to find the prizes.

Not only is it super important to us that our environment and wildlife do not suffer from balloon waste caused by balloon releases, but there has been talk about banning balloons all together! This would mean no party balloons, wedding balloons or balloon modelling, and this would be such a shame. What’s a party without balloons!?

Please help us make a stand against balloon releases by talking to us about our alternative options. And help the environment by placing your latex balloons into your  bin once you have finished with them.

Until next time,
Helen

Letter Balloons

 Letter Balloons

Letter balloons are becoming increasingly popular bringing that ‘WOW’ factor and talking point to any event. These letter balloons are all over our Pinterest and Instagram feeds right now, and we’re not complaining! This trend is so fun and perfect for all occasions.

They are perfect for everything from baby showers and weddings to company events/exhibitions, birthdays and more even school proms! There are  a variety of different colours, even the new on trend Rose gold!

We offer two different sizes of letter balloons;

Hoop with Letter Balloons

Large 34″ which are helium filled and can be put in an arch or on individual weights. These foil balloons will float with helium for several days.

The smaller 16″ are proving to be very popular also. They can only be air filled and need to be hung up as they cannot float, adding them to a hoop just adds something a bit different.

Here are some cool ways you can use our funky letter balloons to spell it out

Engagement Letter Balloons

1. Birthdays! Rather than having the number 1, spell out ONE for your little darling or have their names up in helium!

2. Engagements! LOVE in huge letters is always a hit, or simply ENGAGED is bound to get everyone at the party talking.

Mr & Mrs Letter Balloons

3. Wedding Day! Mr & Mrs looks fab, you can even have balloons above the cake or as a backdrop to the dance floor.

Baby Letter Balloons

4. Baby showers! The words BOY or GIRL looks great, or even BABY. Someone recently had BORN TO BE WILD! Get creative!

So next time you’re looking for a fun and unique addition to your party or event, why not consider our letter balloons?

April Showers

April Showers

Rain is one of the biggest worries for brides-to-be. Although it’s an old wives’ tale that rain on your wedding day means good luck, waking up to drizzle and stormy skies can make any bride feel far from lucky. As Alanis Morissette once sang, “It’s like rain on your wedding day”, but there are plenty of ways to prepare for a wet wedding, and some cool ideas too! While it’s something you can’t control, what you can control are your plans to make the very best of a wet-weather day. Take a look at our top tips for dealing with wet weather on your big day and reasons why your potentially rainy day will be an amazing one.

1. Wellies- there is nothing cooler than a bride in some pretty welly boots giving a festival chic vibe.
2. Umbrellas- lots of different or matching coloured umbrellas that will look fun in your wedding photos.
3. Warm Comfort Food- we all know that food is one of the best parts of any wedding! With dreary weather, you and your guests can indulge in some delicious hot stews, roasts or even serve hot chocolate! Who wants a salad anyway?!
4. Photographs- rainy weather usually makes for better pictures. Soft clouds rather than blazing sunshine and harsh shadows and how fun to add in extra props such as wellies and umbrellas into your wedding album!
5. Rainbows- You could see one! How lucky and magical would that be on your wedding day, especially if your photographer is able to capture it.
6. Essentials- don’t forget to pack your hairdryer, make-up (especially the waterproof mascara!) and hairspray so you can touch up if you do happen to get caught in the downpour!
7. Flowers- Your beautiful wedding day blooms are less likely to wilt in the rain. Win!

I made some beautiful colourful wedding balloons for a wedding shoot recently and it just so happened to rain. It didn’t dampen the mood though (excuse the pun) and just take a look at these awesome pictures and video below.

You really can’t predict the weather, so why stress and worry about it? Just remember what really matters on your wedding day. It’s not going to be a disaster if everything doesn’t go completely to plan and you do end up with rain on your wedding day. This is about the two of you sharing your big day with friends and family, and not even a downpour can ruin that!
