Do you want to have an amazing blue wedding?

Blue is becoming more and more popular as a wedding colour scheme.

When pantone announced it as its colour for 2020 I know lots of people got excited.

As did Mel from Mel’s Cakes and bakes who organised this shoot.

From blue balloons, to a blue cake, a blue suit to blue candles, there is so much you can do if you want a blue wedding and we had it all.

Mel wanted to go for a mix of dark and light blues with a hint of gold.

So this is what I did with my balloons.

We had decided on a Demi arch – a half arch organic style – on my hoop framework. I used a mixture of Navy, pastel blue and azure blue balloons and added in a few gold chrome balloons.

Later throughout the shoot we attached the lets eat cake sign from Sparkling event hire to the hoop.

Toni from Glamavan even added blue glitter to the bride

Keshell came with her mobile bar and added blue bunting

I think you can see that there is much available if you want to have a blue wedding.

I hope this has given you lots of inspiration for your special day.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss your wedding day balloons.

Garden Parties

With most venues still being closed and people having to social distance. Garden parties are the way to go this summer for all your celebrations.

Birthday parties, baby showers, anniversaries, retirement parties and anything else you want to celebrate, can be done this way.

Make sure you keep up to date with all the latest guidelines to ensure you are keeping everyone safe and if you do this, you will still be able to have a great party.

Once you have done this and worked out who you can have round to party, you will need to think of your balloon decoration.

Here a few ideas for you –

Balloon Arches

Pink and white balloon arch for garden parties

Do you know What style do you want? There are sooo many!!

An air filled design is much better for outside, so this narrows it down slightly, but then you need to decide if you want a full arch or half an arch, maybe a garland would be better for what space you have.

Then you need to think of colours, do you want it one colour, mixed colours and do you want themed balloons added?

Balloon walls

Perfect for any occasion.

It can hide a space you might not like and provides the perfect backdrop for photos.

Letter balloons

These can be hung on a fence and spell out what ever you would like. Letter balloons come in 2 different sizes, so if there isn’t much room, the smaller balloons will be perfect.

Number Balloons

If you celebrating a birthday, you cant forget those big numbers, why not make them even bigger buy having them made into a display.

Personalised Balloons

So popular right now!!

Just something a bit extra for the person who is celebrating. You can have whatever message you would like added. Or perfect to take as a gift if you have been invited to a garden party.

Gender reveal Balloons

If you planning on telling everyone what the sex the baby is, my giant gender reveal balloons are the perfect way of doing this. And if you don’t fancy hosting a garden party to do it, you will still be able to show everyone while hosting an online party.

I hope this has given you some great ideas balloon wise, for your summer garden parties. If you would like to chat to me about any of these ideas you can contact me here

If you need even more, then head over to my Pinterest Board, where there are lots of different ideas for everything else you may need.

Balloon Number Displays

Balloon Number displays

Balloon specialists like myself can do so much more with your number balloons.

Why just have a floating single number when you can have a balloon display and make a feature out of the number balloon.

Pink balloon number display

You can have personalisation added, themed balloons added, small numbers or big numbers there so many different options.

small number balloon display

All these designs are air filled too, which makes them longer lasting, so as well as looking so much more impressive, you will be able to enjoy them for longer.

As well as being the perfect item for your birthday party they would make a great surprise for a couple celebrating their wedding anniversary, why wait for one the main significant years, why not just do any year.

A new trend which started last year is balloon mosaics –

Big number balloon display

These are big 5ft letters filled with balloons and make a great addition to any party.

I make all my balloon mosaics to order and yes they are a bit more expensive than your normal number balloons, but you get to take them after the party.

I hope this has given you some thought on what you can do differently for your next birthday.

Which number balloon displays do you prefer?

And if you still do just want your number balloons helium filled, of course i can do that.

As always if you do need more inspiration, head over to my Pinterest board board all about balloon number displays.

Until next time,

Retirement Party

Retirement Blog image

Retirement – Another one of life’s milestones.

Did you know that around 10,000 people reach retirement age every single day!!

That’s a lot of parties.

Having a retirement party is a great way to celebrate leaving work life and enjoying the next part of your life.

Whether you plan on doing lots of travelling or just relaxing. It is a time to celebrate.

Here a few things to think about when planning a retirement party for yourself or for a colleague.

  • Where are you going to hold the party?
  • Are you going to have a theme?
  • What about music you will need a DJ – Think about favourite music
  • Do not forget to invite family & friends not just work colleagues.
  • And what about old colleagues, who have already left.
  • Are you going to do presentations? Are they going to be serious or funny.
  • Do not forget the food.
  • or the cake.
  • Photo booths are a big hit for any age and very on trend right now.
  • You will need decorations – do not forget the balloons!!
  • Old photos – maybe Include achievements
  • Are you going to do Speeches – who is going to do them?

What if you are not going to do a full evening party. That ok, most of these options can be done for a fun last day at work.

Whichever option you decide on, remember it is all about an enjoyable occasion. Creating new memories and remembering the old memories.

Personalise your Balloons

Personalised balloons are another trend that is not going to go away.

Going back just a few years, a personalised balloon involved actually writing on to the balloon with specialised pens or glue and glitter.

But now balloon professionals like me have invested in all the right equipment, to help make the job as easy as possible. And now we use cutting machines and vinyl to personalise your balloons. Which is so much easier!!

There are lots of reasons & celebrations to personalise your balloons.

Here are my top 7:

Birthdays

Whatever age you are a personalised birthday balloon is a perfect gift.

Or you may chose to have them as part of your party decor around the room.

Retirements

Add a message to your work colleague’s retirement balloon and either put it on their work desk or take it to their leaving party.

Christenings or Communions

Add your child’s name and the special date.

Get a cute photo of them with their personalised balloons for your memories.

Weddings

The list is endless for wedding days.

Personalised messages to your other half on the morning of the day.

A special message to the bride form all the bridesmaids.

From just Mr & Mrs, to both your names and dates or the best day ever

Add table numbers or names onto your table balloons.

Gender reveals

Personalised balloons are perfect for this, you can add your family name involve other children or have the message just bespoke to you and your other half.

Then just pop them to see what colour balloons fall out.

Company events/promotions/parties

Having an open day an in-store promotion, doing an exhibition stand or having a party – personalised balloons with your logo on always looks great.

Just because

I love doing these balloons – random message balloons – the perfect way to let someone know you are thinking about them, whatever the reason. Or to tell them something specific.

As you can see from the images, I mainly do personalise you balloons, by using bubbles, foils and large latex balloons. This is because they are longer lasting balloons and you would get even less float time with a standard sized latex balloon, having said that, I can do latex balloons as long as you only need them for the day.

I hope you enjoyed looking at all these different reasons and it has given you some thoughts on who you could give a personalised balloon to.

Company Anniversary

A Company anniversary / birthday is a big reason to celebrate. Whether you are celebrating your first year or your 100th year – yes I have decorated for a business celebrating its 100th year!!

Whatever stage you are with your business, make a point of celebrating your company anniversary and hold a special event.

Fit Base UK Gym Turns 1

On Saturday the 7th of March Fit base uk gym in Dunstable had their first birthday. They had lots of fun things planned for the day, there was even cake and I was asked to provide them with balloon décor, to help with the celebrations.

I met up with Nathan at the gym to see what space there was and showed him a few different ideas that he could have.

The decisions were made to have an outdoor organic arch over the main entrance and some pillars dotted around the gym area.

All the balloons needed to be lime green and black to match Fit base uk’s branding.

There were 3 balloon pillars, 2 of them were placed either side of the cake to make a feature area and one was placed the other side of the room.

I decided to do big round balloons as toppers for the pillars, as I felt these fitted in better with the look of the gym. I also put the Fit Base uk’s logo onto them.

The cake was made from Creme de la cakes who are also based in Dunstable. She made a mini replica of the gym, it looked fabulous!!

The organic demi arch outside was a mixture of all different sized latex balloons, that was the first thing people noticed as they approached the gym.

Do you need balloons for your company celebration, get in touch and we can chat about different ideas

Baby Showers – Oh Baby!

Creative Decorations love a Baby shower and I’m sure from the images you have seen on my social media pages you can see why. Perfect pastel shades, family, friends, games, fun and a beautiful occasion to celebrate. Total perfection! Baby shower ideas aren’t always the easiest to come across and celebrities definitely set the bar high. However, whatever you’re after, I’ve got you covered.

Below are some examples of what some celebrities have done to give you some inspiration:

Binky Felstead’s had a lavish theme with a gorgeous flower wall at the entrance with super-sized baby blocks. The cake had the cutest décor with a little elephant on the top, and the table setting was filled with flowers.

Nicky Hilton’s theme was blue and pink as the couple were keeping the sex of the child a surprise, and guests tucked into a spread of macaroons and sweet treats from Maison Ladurée.

Khloe Kardashian had a plush bash that was sponsored by Amazon and was thrown at the Hotel Bel-Air.

It involved a pink flower wall, floral covered ceiling, giant elephant topiary and hundreds of balloons.

Stacey Solomon ensured her baby shower was Instagram-worthy with an exquisite flower wall, arches of foliage and bouquets of balloons alongside topiary elephants and bears.

Providing the soundtrack for the bash was a saxophonist, who blared out tunes in the spring sunshine.

Biodegradable Balloons!

I always use 100% biodegradable latex balloons –

Did you know that biodegradable latex balloons are made of latex rubber, which is a completely natural product that comes from the sap of a tree called a Hevea Brasiliensis?

They are made of natural rubber, NOT man-made rubber or plastic.

Studies have shown that the decomposition time for a latex balloon is six months. The same time as an Oak leaf!

When latex balloons are released, most of them go very high up into the sky, around five miles, where there is little pressure and very cold temperatures. The helium inside expands and then shatters the balloon into hundreds of spaghetti like fragments and float back to earth.

Latex Balloons will completely decompose over time. But please don’t let go of your balloons for them to litter the environment. Please dispose of Latex Balloons in your household waste where they will decompose in landfill.

Creative Decorations do not support balloon releases and I urge all our customers to not let go or hold balloon releases. When Balloons are released into the air they will fall into our environment and simply become ‘litter’. Although they will eventually decompose, until that time they will litter our beaches and countryside.

I am a member of the PEBA UK (Pro Environment Balloon Alliance), who are a worldwide organisation committed to striking a balance between the balloon industry and environmental responsibility.

Until next time,

Helen
